What we didn't know in 2024...

When we first produced this iconic Broadway rock musical with the the cult following at the Arch in RiNo in August 2024, we knew we had a great show to present to Denver.  What we didn't anticipate was the profound impact the entire show and pre-show experience would have on our audience members.

Of course, we have to brag about our brilliant cast and band. Clark Destin Jones, Emma Rebecca Maxfield and Anne Terze-Schwarz shook the world with their portrayals of Hedwig and Yitzhak, winning critical acclaim.

Jessica L'Whor put together a pre-show variety act lineup that showcased diversity in every way and the costume contest made people feel seen and celebrated.

I personally stood outside of every show as the audience exited nightly and people were awe-struck, often in tears. It was an unparalleled experience for so many. Many folks felt seen for the first time in their lives.

The very first night of our 2024 run, a young trans beauty named Sam won our costume contest and we received this email from their mother:

Hi to all of the Hedwig team -

I was at the opening night performance with my queer trans nonbinary teen who *just* turned 18 last week. Sam was the curly haired beauty who won the costume contest during the pre-show!

I wanted to send you all a huge huge thank you for making this performance happen! It was such a powerful amazing experience with such a fantastic group of actors & musicians & designers.

There were several times during the show that I was weeping. My beautiful child has fought so hard to just be themself and to fight to thrive in a world that is openly hostile and often just plain scary. "Hedwig" is a play that has special significance to them as a person and also as an actor (future dream role to play Hedwig!). Some of the songs are on their personal favorites list - such as "Origin of Love" which they have used in their solo performance art work that explores and explodes the societal concepts of the gender binary.

The last few years as a trans youth have been horrifyingly awful and there are very few spaces where my child is able to just "be" and to be fully themself. During last night's performance whenever I snuck a peek at their face, they were full of the joy and wonder that comes from being fully immersed in a performance. A big "thank you" also to Clark for really "seeing" my child and honoring them with a kiss on their forehead during "Sugar Daddy"!

Thank you for bringing us theater that transforms lives and for creating a space for the performance of safety and welcome for the actors / musicians and also for the audience.

Thank you -
Lynn

Hi Friends,

I am passionate about offering exciting theatrical experiences and elevating live entertainment in Colorado - my beloved home state.

At a time when queer storytelling is in serious danger, I am proud to create a safe space to gather, celebrate community and amplify these voices and the Hedwig story.

Since I started producing live entertainment in 2007 in NYC, I’ve always been a hired gun and gotten a big old check from a company or organization to produce a full-length musical. And we've won some awards while doing so! give5productions.com/recognition

But here's the thing, this is the second time I am producing and marketing a Broadway title on my own dime. And it takes $70,000 to do so. Ticket sales only cover so much.

We are so grateful to our show sponsors so far! And we'd love for you to join this illustrious group of companies and individuals.

Levels start at $100 and go up to $5,000.

And if sponsoring isn't your thing, donations for as little as $5 truly do help.

Please consider supporting our production. The goal is to raise $10,000 by November 23. With your help, I am sure we can do so.
