A NOTE FROM DIRECTOR / CHOREOGRAPHER,
KELLY VAN OOSBREE

When we first brought Hedwig and the Angry Inch to the stage in the summer of 2024, we hoped it would spark conversation, connection, and celebration. What we didn't expect was the overwhelming response and the incredible personal stories shared with us about how this show resonated in the lives of those who joined us in that 2024 production at The Arch.

We knew we had to bring her back.

KVO DISCUSSES THE SCRIPT

WITH CLARK DESTIN JONES

This remount is not just a reprise; it’s a revival in every sense of the word. Hedwig’s story—a raw, electrifying exploration of identity, love, pain, and transformation—feels even more urgent now. In a time when legislation across the country increasingly threatens the rights and visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals, Hedwig stands defiant, glittering, and unbowed. Her voice is not just a cry for recognition, but a rallying call for authenticity in a world that often demands conformity.

What makes Hedwig endure is that she is, at her core, a survivor. And survival, especially for queer and trans communities today, is a form of resistance. Hedwig’s journey through fragmentation and self-discovery mirrors the ongoing fight for dignity, visibility, and joy in the face of adversity. By bringing Hedwig back to the stage, we hope to hold space for stories that are too often pushed to the margins—and to remind every audience member that there is strength in vulnerability, beauty in imperfection, and liberation in finding your own voice.

Thank you for coming back. Thank you for listening. And thank you for letting Hedwig, once again, take center stage.
